BREAKING NEWS NO. 2: MMDA: Several areas flooded amid heavy rains

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Saturday reported several areas in Quezon City and Makati City are flooded because of heavy rains brought by the southwest monsoon.

As of 11:12 a.m., the MMDA said the following areas were flooded:

Quezon City:

EDSA-Oliveros northbound

D. Tuazon cor. Maria Clara Street

Aurora Boulevard cor. Betty Go-Belmonte

Araneta Ave. cor. Baloy

Quezon Ave. cor. D. Tuazon

Biak na Bato cor. Quezon Ave.

E. Rodriguez, Sr. Ave.-Araneta Ave. northbound

EDSA Monte de Piedad southbound

Makati City:

EDSA Estrella southbound.

According to the MMDA, the following areas are gutter deep, but are passable to all types of vehicles.

According to weather bureau Pagasa, Metro Manila is experiencing “occasional rains” due to the southwest monsoon.
