Brighton have been dealt a blow to their summer transfer plans this week.

The Premier League side, who are fighting for European qualification, have allowed manager Roberto De Zebri's transfer specialist to quit the club.

De Zerbi, who likes to have some measure of control over transfers, hired a specialist to further boost the club's recruitment.

His fellow Italian Salvatore Monaco, per The Athletic, was assistant to head of recruitment Paul Winstanley.

The outlet goes on to claim that as soon as Monaco landed the job, there was a feeling he was not suitable for the role.

Now all parties have approved his departure, which may be seen as a blow to De Zerbi and his transfer plans.
