Bruno Fernandes is closing in on one of David Beckham’s long-standing Manchester United records with the Premier League season entering its final stretch.
The Portuguese playmaker has been United’s creative engine once again this season.
Now he is just one assist away from matching a milestone Beckham set during the club’s dominant era under Sir Alex Ferguson.

Bruno Fernandes is closing in on David Beckham’s assist record
TNT Sports highlighted the stat that has suddenly put Fernandes within touching distance of Beckham’s Manchester United assist record.
“Bruno Fernandes now has 14 Premier League assists this season. The only Man United player with more in a single campaign is David Beckham – 15 in 1999/00.”
Beckham’s mark has stood for more than two decades, which underlines how difficult it has been for any United player to surpass it.
Fernandes, however, has already tied several of the club’s modern creative records during his time at Old Trafford and now sits just one assist away from equalling Beckham’s famous number.
That puts him firmly in a position to challenge a milestone that has survived through multiple Manchester United eras.
Bruno Fernandes has nine games left to break David Beckham’s record
Fernandes also has a clear opportunity to move past Beckham because Manchester United still have nine Premier League matches remaining this season.
That means the United captain effectively has nine chances to register the two assists required to set a new club record.
Given Fernandes’ role as United’s primary creator and set-piece specialist, the odds strongly favour him reaching the mark before the campaign ends.
He has already produced several multi-assist performances this season, which means the record could realistically fall in a single game.
