
POLICE have recorded more than 10 individual statements so far regarding the death of a college student who was found with 61 stab wounds in Ketereh, last Friday.
Kelantan Police Chief, Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat, said those whose statements were taken included the victim's family and housemates as well as witnesses to the incident.
"Until now, the probe is still ongoing and we are in the process of completing the investigation papers.
"In fact, the main motive for the incident has not been confirmed and is still under investigation.
"So far, we consider this case to be resolved with the arrest of the 19-year-old male suspect. There will be no further arrests after this," he said.
In the incident at 12.30 am on Friday, the body of a woman was found in Kampung Padang Simah, Ketereh, with 61 stab wounds all over her body.
Mohd Yusoff reportedly said that the victim was left without any identification documents, but police identified the victim based on fingerprint checks by the National Registration Department.
He said that the victim is believed to have been killed elsewhere before her body was dumped at the location involved. – May 5, 2026
