PETALING JAYA: The government has increased the Early Schooling Assistance (BAP) from RM150 to RM200 per pupil under Budget 2027, benefiting 5.3 million schoolchildren nationwide.

Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said RM1 billion had been allocated for the assistance to help families prepare for the 2027 school session.

“This means a family with four children will receive RM800 to prepare for the 2027 school session,” he said when tabling the budget today.

Anwar said the aid would be distributed at schools, allowing parents to meet teachers directly and strengthen their shared responsibility for their children’s academic progress and character development.
