In today’s café series, we’re visiting Sunnies, a stylish café tucked in Mont Kiara. Bathed in natural light with leafy decor, Sunnies brings together chill vibes and solid brunch options. It’s the kind of place where you can take your time. It’s a place to catch up with a friend for brunch, do light work, or just enjoy a quiet moment with coffee and good food.
Environment

The ambience at Sunnies is laid-back and inviting. Textured walls, vintage magazine displays, warm lighting, and floral touches create a relaxed yet stylish vibe. Seating is varied — comfortable cushioned chairs, small tables for two, and a semi-private corner ideal for meetings or group catch-ups. A few plug points are available, making it a decent choice for short work sessions. I personally enjoy the song choices Sunnies play in the background. With its chill indie-pop and R&B playlist, it’s a great spot to unwind or connect with your date or friends.

Food
On the menu, the Duck & Toast (RM32) is a standout — thick, juicy cuts of duck with just the right layer of fat, tender and flavorful without being overly smoky. It comes with a perfectly-cooked omelette on top of a lightly-toasted sourdough that is not hardened. It’s definitely a must-try.
The Truffle Mushroom Rigatoni (RM29) was creamy with a rich truffle aroma. Though it didn’t quite deliver a wow factor, pasta lovers can give it a try. The Beef Chick Waffle (RM32) was decent; while the chicken batter was well-seasoned, it was a little dry inside, and the beef bacon lacked that smoky crisp finish.
Their Tiramisu Latte (RM18) was a hit. It was sweet, indulgent, and came with a ladyfinger for a fun twist, just like eating a tiramisu cake in a cup. It leans on the dessert side of coffee, but in the best way. It was definitely a guilty pleasure I did not regret ordering.

Location & Accessibility
Sunnies is accessible by parking at Publika Shopping Gallery and walking a short distance, or you can valet nearby (though it’s on the pricier side).
Verdict
Sunnies is a café I’d definitely return to, especially for their duck dishes and indulgent coffee options like the Tiramisu Latte. I’d also come back to try their cakes, they looked incredibly attractive and tasty. It was a shame I did not get to try it because I was just too full this time.
While the prices lean toward the higher side, the portions, quality, and relaxing environment make it feel like good value. I personally loved how easy it was to just sit back, zone out, and enjoy the calm ambience. Whether you’re hanging out with friends, catching up over brunch, or on a casual date with your loved one, Sunnies offers a cozy little retreat worth revisiting.
