Days after senior BJP leader and former Punjab chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh publicly criticised the appointment of Kewal Singh Dhillon as Punjab BJP president, his daughter Jai Inder Kaur, accompanied by party workers and leaders from Patiala, called on Dhillon at his residence in Chandigarh on Monday and congratulated him on his appointment.
Jai Inder Kaur offered sweets to Dhillon. Expressing her support, Jai Inder Kaur said she was confident that Dhillon would strengthen the party’s organisation in Punjab.
The visit assumes political significance as Capt Amarinder had openly expressed reservations over Dhillon’s elevation, sparking speculation about divisions within the Punjab BJP.
