Kota Kinabalu: Sabah recorded 245 Covid-19 cases on Monday, a drop of 20 cases compared to Sunday’s 265.

Sabah Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun, in a statement, attributed the drop to a lower number of test samples compared to Sunday’s.

“The test samples that form the basis of the daily case count is 2,198 on Monday compared to 2,472 on Sunday. In fact, today’s positivity rate is 12.19 per cent, higher than Sunday’s 11.69 per cent,” he said.

Kota Kinabalu again recorded triple-digit cases with 101 (+10), followed by Tawau 32 cases (+4), Sandakan 28 cases (-17), Penampang 16 cases (+3), Papar 11 cases (-2) and Putatan 11 cases (-4).

Apart from Sandakan, Tuaran also recorded a high decrease (-14) in the number of new infections. No new cases were recorded in eight districts, namely Telupid, Sipitang, Semporna, Pitas, Nabawan, Kunak, Kudat and Kota Marudu.

A total of 240 of the 245 cases on Monday are in Category 1 and 2, three cases in Category 3 and two in Category 4.
