The month-long activities of inclusive learning and growth for children with special needs by FICCI FLO Amritsar concluded with celebrated chef Vikas Khanna interacting with students of AGOSH, a special school.

The concluding ceremony brought together members of FLO Amritsar, children and adults from AGOSH Holding Hands, educators, caregivers and community members to engage productively in activities that aimed to build a sustainable movement of providing education as well as livelihood to students under autism spectrum.

The month-long initiative had commenced with FLO Amritsar’s participation with AGOSH School for Special Needs with the support from Maj Gen Kartik C Seshadri, General Officer Commanding, 15 Infantry Division, Amritsar, highlighting the importance of institutional inclusivity and community support.

Another major initiative was ‘Soch Ke Rang 9.0’, a two-day inclusive art show and fundraiser held at Sarovar Premiere, which brought together neurodiverse and neurotypical communities through art and creative expression. Featured artists and initiatives included small businesses run by individuals with neurodivergent and neurotypical disorders.

“The exhibition welcomed over 3,000 visitors, creating significant awareness around inclusion and neurodiversity,” said Tannya Khanna, chairperson, FICCI FLO Amritsar.

The concluding day saw chef Vikas Khanna and his mother Bindu Khanna interacting with children and also honouring the achievers among them.

The initiative further extended through an ‘Art for a Cause’ campaign supporting Dr Radhike Khanna, national awardee and founder of Om Creations Trust. “Through the promotion and sale of artworks, FLO Amritsar helped generate awareness and support for over 500 unschooled children and young adults with disabilities in rural Maharashtra, contributing towards education, skill development and financial independence,” said Tannya.

The month-long activities concluded with ‘langar seva’ and ‘prasad’ distribution at Gurdwara Baba Srichand, where members joined the AGOSH community in a collective expression of gratitude and service.

Tannya Khanna said the Autism Awareness Month was envisioned not as a single event but as a sustained movement built on awareness, inclusion, advocacy, creativity and community participation.

“Through performing arts, visual arts, fundraising and seva, FLO Amritsar sought to create meaningful opportunities for engagement while reinforcing the dignity, abilities and aspirations of neurodiverse individuals,” she added.
