- Comedian James Acaster has been banished from The Celebrity Traitors in the penultimate episode of the series after receiving the most votes from his fellow contestants at the roundtable when he confessed to being a reluctant Traitor to the group.
- Acaster told the remaining contestant that he entered the game wishing to play as a Faithful and help catch Traitors, noting that he was pleased with efforts to play the game like a Faithful.
- Viewers at home applauded Acaster for his honesty, saying it was a “brave and genuine” act which created “brilliant television”.
- Others weren’t so impressed, with some claiming that it “undermined” the game and that it has potentially ruined the finale too.
- Acaster’s elimination means that there are two Traitors in the finale: Maya Jama and King Kenny. Meanwhile, there are five Faithfuls: Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Michael Sheen, James Blunt, Sebastian Croft and Romesh Ranganathan.
