- In a truly dramatic and unprecedented moment, comedian James Acaster has confessed to being a Traitor during the roundtable on the semi-final episode of Celebrity Traitors.
- Acaster revealed himself to be a Traitor after actor Michael Sheen deduced that he was one of the people who murdered Ross Kemp earlier in the game.
- Realising that he had been cornered, Acaster came clean and said that he was a “reluctant Traitor”, having been recruited early in the game.
- Speaking to the room, Acaster said: “When I came into this experience I told Claudia (Winkleman) that all I wanted to be was a faithful, and all I wanted to do is go around this castle and try and help the faithfuls as much as possible catching traitors. I’m really proud to say that’s what I’ve been able to do, under the circumstances. I am, reluctantly, a traitor.”
- Acaster’s unprecedented move left the other contestants with no choice but to vote for him, making him the third Traitor eliminated from the series.
- The final has now come down to seven contestants: Traitors Maya Jama and King Kenny and Faithful Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Michael Sheen, James Blunt, Sebastian Croft and Romesh Ranganathan.
