LABUAN: Labuan Chinese Chamber of Commerce Chairman Datuk Wong Kii Yii has pledged full support for Senator Tan Sri Anifah Aman as Chairman of Labuan Corporation (LC), reversing his earlier reservations on non-locals holding the post.

Wong, who had a private meeting with Anifah at Kota Kinabalu, said:

“I am convinced he is the right man to uplift Labuan and will succeed in his mission. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim would not have chosen Anifah if the former Foreign Minister was not the right person for the Labuan job.”

He added that Anifah’s close connections with Sabah would also help Labuan in resolving Sabah-Labuan related issues.
