Kota Kinabalu: Plantation and Commodities Deputy Minister Datuk Chan Foong Hin is confident of City Hall (DBKK) and police in ensuring the city will continue to be a safe and liveable place.

Chan, who is also Kota Kinabalu Member of Parliament, said he had embarked on Chinese New Year (CNY) rounds especially to meet up with the people, shop owners and vendors around the city together with new Mayor Datuk Seri Dr Sabin Samitah.

“It’s normal to hear all kinds of criticism (during the rounds). Whether we do or not, there will always be criticisms. But what is important is that as civil servants be it politician, the Mayor or police, we serve the people regardless of political backgrounds,” he said during his round at the Kota Kinabalu Central Market to hand over Chinese New Year goodies bags to vendors, Saturday.
