How do I submit an article?

To submit an article, please follow these steps:

  1. Click the Create tab in your creator dashboard
  2. Click on + Create Article
  3. Here’s what you need to include for an article submission:

(a) Title: EN/BM: Max. 120 characters, including spacing; CN: Max. 60 characters, including spacing

(b) Cover image: Your article must include at least one (1) image at the start of your written content

(c) Content: Your written content must have a minimum of 300 words

(d) Select the Language & Topic of your article

(e) Select the NCC Campaign (optional) title that applies if you are submitting for a creator campaign

  1. Please follow these image guidelines for ALL images used in your article:

(a) Format: JPG/ JPEG/ PNG only

(b) Maximum size: 1MB per image

(c) Do include a descriptive caption below each image

(d) Do include image credit in each image caption

  • If you own the image, you can credit it to yourself by using your name as the image credit

  • If the image is taken from another source, please give credit to the owner and provide a hyperlink to its original source

  1. Please include references with a hyperlink to the source within the article when you:

(a) Provide a direct quotation

(b) Use statistical or other data

(c) Provide information that are not common knowledge (eg. scientific facts, medical information)

  1. Click Submit after you are done
  2. Your submitted content will typically be published or scheduled for publishing within 1–5 working days after submission
  3. You may refer to our general content guideline on what you can or cannot do when submitting an article

How do I submit a video?

To submit a video, please follow these steps:

  1. Click the Create tab in your creator dashboard
  2. Click on + Upload Video
  3. Here’s what you need to include for a video submission:

(a) Upload video: Only videos in MP4 format are accepted, with max. duration of 5 minutes and max. file size of 500MB

(b) Upload thumbnail (optional): You can choose to upload a thumbnail image for your video (JPG/JPEG/PNG format only, with max. file size of 500KB), or a default image will be selected from the various still shots from your video

(c) Video Title: EN/BM: Max. 120 characters, including spacing; CN: Max. 60 characters, including spacing

(d) Video Description: EN/BM: Max. 1000 characters, including spacing; CN: Max. 500 characters, including spacing

(e) Select the Language & Topic of your video

(f) Select the NCC Campaign (optional) title that applies if you are submitting for a creator campaign

  1. Click Submit after you are done
  2. Your submitted content will typically be published or scheduled for publishing within 1–5 working days after submission
  3. You may refer to our general content guideline on what you can or cannot do when submitting a video

How do I add images or videos to my article?

You can add photos, videos, and other images to your article. However, you are not allowed to add:

To add an image to your article, please follow these steps:

  1. Click the Insert image icon and choose an image file to upload
  2. Please upload image in JPG/JPEG/PNG format only, with maximum file size of 1MB
  3. Click the Caption box below the image to insert a caption and the image credit with a hyperlink to the original source

Note: All Creators have to credit the source of the images used in their content

Add video to an article

To add a video to your article, please follow these steps:

  1. Click the Insert media icon
  2. Paste the URL of the online video you want to embed and click Enter

How do I save a draft of my work?

Saving draft

To save your article draft within the creator dashboard, click the Save Draft button at the top right corner or your text editor.

Once saved, you will find your draft labelled as 'Draft' on your Creator Dashboard.

You may edit and save your draft again by clicking on Update Draft.

When you have finished working on your draft and are ready to submit, click the Submit button. Please note that you will not be able to edit the draft anymore once you’ve submitted it.

Deleting draft

Currently, there is no option to delete your draft on the creator dashboard. However, you may replace the draft with an entirely new article that you wish to submit.

How do I edit or delete my content?

Editing content

To edit an article/ video that you’ve submitted, please follow these steps:

  1. Look for the title of the content you wish to edit in your creator dashboard
  2. Click on the Edit icon on the right column
  3. Edit your article/ video
  4. Click Submit after you are done
  5. The changes will typically be published or scheduled for publishing within 1–5 working days

Deleting content

Currently, there is no option to delete your submitted article/ video from the creator dashboard. If you need to delete/ cancel your submitted content, please email us at creator@newswav.com.

Why is my submitted content not being published?

Here are a few possible reasons as to why your submitted articles/ videos are not being published:

1. Your creator profile is incomplete

We require all new creators to complete their profile information before submitting articles and videos. This is to ensure genuinity and credibility with your audience. Failing to do so will result in your submission being rejected.

2. Your content is pending publication

All articles and videos submitted will be published or scheduled for publishing within 1–5 working days. You can check the status of your submission periodically on your creator dashboard.

If you need your content to be published urgently, please email us at creator@newswav.com.

3. Your content is scheduled to be published

Once your content is ready for publishing, it will either be published immediately or scheduled for a later time that maximizes visibility — typically during peak traffic hours in the morning or afternoon.

4. Your content has been rejected

Your articles/ videos may be rejected for various reasons, including but not limited to:

(a) Plagiarism above 20%

(b) Missing image credit and source

(c) Image(s) contain other publisher’s watermark

(d) Did not meet the minimum requirement of 300 words

(e) Too many grammar mistakes/spelling errors

(f) Video is taken from other publishers/websites

(g) Duplicated content

(h) Directly promoting/advertising brands

(i) Lack of facts/sources to support data/statistics in content

(j) Video contains violence/corpses/pornography/blood

If your submission is rejected, follow these steps:

  1. On your creator dashboard, look for the content with the rejected label in the status column
  2. Click the rejected label to find out the reasons for rejection
  3. Make the necessary changes and resubmit
  4. Alternatively, you may decide not to fix it and let it remain as a rejected submission

Is there a limit to the number of content I can submit to Newswav?

No, there is no limit to the number of submissions you can make on our platform. However, we do give importance to the quality of content published on Newswav and its relevance to our users. Hence, we may filter out content that we deem unsuitable for the platform.
