Chelsea are a step away from landing RB Salzburg football chief Christoph Freund.
Freund is being lined up as Chelsea's sporting director.
A deal is now close after personal terms were agreed last week, reports transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Freund, 45, has a contract with Salzburg to 2026.
As such, Chelsea will need to settle on a compensation fee with Salzburg for their football director.
