Malaysia’s world champions cruise past Jonathan Lai-Crystal Lai in straight sets to reach the Malaysia Masters second round.
NATIONAL mixed doubles pair Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei had no trouble advancing to the second round of the Malaysia Masters after defeating Jonathan Lai-Crystal Lai today.
In action at the Unifi Arena, the world champions were in dominant form, cruising to a straight-sets victory of 21-6, 21-15 in just 24 minutes.
“I think it’s a good start for today, and hopefully we can do even better tomorrow,” Tang Jie said when met after the match.
Awaiting Tang Jie-Ee Wei in the second round tomorrow are Indonesia’s Amri Syahnawi-Nita Violina Marwah, who defeated India’s Rohan Kapoor-Gadde Ruthvika Shivani 21-16, 20-22, 21-10.
