
The oath-taking ceremony for the newly elected Mayor and councillors of the Panchkula Municipal Corporation was held today at the Indradhanush Auditorium in Sector 5, Panchkula. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini attended the event as the chief guest.
Ambala Divisional Commissioner Sanjeev Verma administered the oath of office to the newly elected representatives.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini congratulated Mayor Shyam Lal Bansal and all the councillors on their victory and new responsibilities. He also thanked the residents of Panchkula for electing a leadership committed to development and public service.
The Chief Minister urged the civic body to ensure that the city’s development roadmap remains entirely people-centric. Interacting with the councillors, he reminded them that the public has entrusted them with this responsibility for the next five years, advising them to stay connected with residents, listen to grievances and prioritise development.
He assured that a shortage of funds would not be allowed to hamper Panchkula’s growth. Stating that the government’s goal was to transform Panchkula into a clean and green city, he emphasised taking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0’ to every street and sector.
