Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said BJP’s historic victory in the Sonepat Municipal Corporation (MC) election is the result of tireless hard work, dedication, and the people’s trust in the party’s policies and workers.
He was addressing the oath-taking ceremony of newly elected Mayor Rajiv Jain and councillors at the auditorium of Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology (DCRUST), Murthal, on Thursday. Divisional Commissioner Rajiv Ratan administered the oath of office and secrecy.
The Chief Minister said that despite the intense heat, party workers carried out extensive public outreach day and night, which led to BJP’s mayor and councillors winning by a huge margin.
CM Saini congratulated Mayor Rajiv Jain and all the councillors.
“BJP is a worker-based party where every worker gets opportunities from time to time. This democratic tradition sets BJP apart from other political parties,” he added.
Emphasising women’s empowerment, the Chief Minister said that in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, the party is providing leadership opportunities to women. Referring to Dr Archana Gupta’s appointment as state chief, CM Saini said that promoting women to leadership roles is one of the BJP’s key priorities.
The CM assured that the state government and the new MC team would work together to increase the pace of Sonepat’s development threefold. He said work on better roads, cleanliness, drinking water, sewerage, electricity, and the expansion of modern urban facilities in the city would be carried out rapidly.
He also urged Mayor Rajiv Jain and his team to uphold the people’s trust by working with transparency, sensitivity, and dedication.
BJP state president Dr Archana Gupta, former state president Mohan Lal Badoli, Cabinet Ministers Krishan Lal Panwar and Dr Arvind Sharma, MLAs Krishna Gahlawat, Nikhil Madan, and Pawan Kharkhoda, former minister Kavita Jain, and other dignitaries were present at the event.
