Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has reminded civil servants that they are the state government’s most important asset in carrying out policies and turning them into concrete action for Sabah’s progress.
He said the success of the Hala Tuju Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) plan depends heavily on the support, commitment, and efficiency of the public service.
Speaking at the closing of the 14th Chief Minister’s Department (JKM) Muhibbah Sports Festival at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) on Friday, Hajiji said the government needs civil servants who are healthy, energetic, and dedicated.
His speech, delivered by Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan, also stressed that the festival was not only about competition but about building teamwork, discipline, and unity.
He added that this year’s festival, which began on Sept 19, saw participation from seven teams and featured 15 main events plus five new additions, including e-sports and petanque, showcasing the talent and spirit of Sabah’s public servants.
