LUZON International Premiere Airport Development (Lipad) Corp. on Tuesday launched Clark AeroDistrict — touted as country’s first world-class airport city — as the company seeks to expand its operations into that of a fully integrated economic and business hub.
Clark AeroDistrict is a 759-hectare master-planned development designed to position Clark as a future-ready center for aviation, logistics, business and investment, Lipad President and CEO Noel Manankil told a media briefing.
Lipad, the operator of Clark International Airport, said the project was intended to make the facility the heart of an ecosystem where aviation, commerce, logistics, and everyday life converge.
The development, master-planned by infrastructure consulting firm AECOM, is located within the Clark Freeport Zone.
Built on government-owned land with no right-of-way constraints, the project will benefit from investment-friendly policies, streamlined business processes, and one-stop investment services, Lipad added.
The estate will have four development zones designed to support aviation-related industries, cargo and logistics operations, commercial and mixed-use developments and future airport expansion.
Facilities will include dedicated areas for maintenance, repair and overhaul services, general aviation, cargo and freight operations, and future passenger terminal developments.
An integrated cargo and logistics ecosystem will support sustained cargo growth and accommodate new players.
Scalable, investment-ready infrastructure will strengthen supply chains and help improve the movement of goods across domestic and international markets, Lipad also said.
Lipad said the project is backed by the combined expertise of a consortium that includes Changi Airports International, JG Summit Holdings, Filinvest Development Corp. and Philippine Airport Ground Support Solutions.
