
Kota Kinabalu: Ten of Sabah’s top local music works will go head-to-head for the CLAS16 crown at the Carta Lagu Artis Sabah awards final at the JKKN Kota Kinabalu Auditorium on Saturday.
The final, organised by RTM Sabah’s Entertainment and Music Section, will run from 8.30pm to 10.30pm under the theme “Black Gold”, continuing the annual platform since 2005 to showcase the State’s homegrown composers, lyricists and singers.
The 10 finalists are Rusdie Shaah with Bukan Milikmu, Mixsimus Jumi (Semarakkan Harapan), Qahirah Maisarah (Bahagia Tanpamu), Ryenald Guntabid (Lumangad Oku Dika), Narsisius Justin Misin (Hati Bukan Mata), Moses Bryan Clay (Yang Satu), Queennera (Mungkin Hari Esok), Arddley Nicholas (Bintang Menemani Bulan), Felix Agus (Memori) and Dang Mar Ezzah (Mawar Merekah).
They were selected based on their performance in the weekly CLAS chart and listener votes throughout the season, with the finalists competing for the top three places as well as Best Vocal, Best Lyrics and Best Performance awards.
A total of RM18,500 in cash prizes is at stake, including RM6,000 for the champion, RM4,000 for second place and RM2,000 for third, while the finalists will be accompanied by Kombo RTM Sabah and joined by CLAS15 champion Velvet Aduk and dance group Funz Crew.
