KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor (pic) has urged the people to continue fostering patriotism, preserving unity and maintaining harmony among Sabah’s diverse communities.
In his Sabah Day and National Day 2025 message, he said the dual celebrations provide an opportunity to reflect on history, strengthen identity and nurture love for the state.
Hajiji noted that 31 August is significant for Sabah as it marks both National Day and Sabah Day, serving as a unifying factor for Malaysians of all backgrounds.
He added that the commemorations are not only moments of celebration but also a time to honour the sacrifices of freedom fighters who fought for independence.
The Chief Minister said that this year’s themes, “Malaysia Madani: Rakyat Disantuni” and “Untukmu Sabah Tanah Airku,” highlight shared values rooted in the Madani principles and the Sabah Maju Jaya Development Plan.
