Marina Bye, daughter of comedian Ruby Wax, is set to make her debut in the much-anticipated new instalment of The Inbetweeners.
Bye, 33, will appear alongside the hit show’s core four in a third Inbetweeners film, alongside Simon Bird as Will McKenzie, Joe Thomas as Simon Cooper, James Buckley as Jay Cartwright and Blake Harrison as Neil Sutherland.
While plot details remain under wraps for the forthcoming feature film, it looks as though Bye is set to take on the role of the bride, as she was seen on set, in pictures obtained by The Daily Mail, wearing a white wedding gown. It remains unclear, however, which of the boys will be the groom.
Production on the Netflix film is reportedly already underway, having begun on 7 September. While a release date is yet to be announced, it is presumed to be sometime around 2027.
In October 2025, creators Damon Beesley and Iain Morris claimed that the Channel 4 sitcom, which followed the adolescent travails of four foul-mouthed teens, would be coming back in some form – with an announcement earlier this month confirming a return.
The forthcoming film follows on from The Inbetweeners Movie in 2011 and The Inbetweeners 2 in 2014 – which together grossed over £100m worldwide and set new box-office records for UK comedies. It is not currently known whether the film will be released in cinemas before coming out on Netflix.
It is also still unconfirmed whether Rivals star Emily Atack, who played popular highschooler Charlotte Hinchcliffe, has signed up for the reunion.
Producers were reportedly hoping to secure the involvement of Atack, with a source telling The Sun that she was “one of the missing pieces in the project they’re keen to get in place”.
Joining the cast officially, however, is Bye, who is one of three children born to American presenter and actor Wax, 73, and TV producer Ed Bye, 71. Her sister Madeline, 36, also works as an actor, while brother Max, 38, is a computer coder.
Together with Madeline, Bye hosts Relatively – a podcast in which the “comedy double act” tackle a number of subjects such as mental health, and career advice from Alan Rickman. The siblings have also previously performed at Edinburgh Fringe together.
“When you've lived with someone all your life and come out of the same womb, you speak the same language,” Marina told The Guardian in 2020.
Bye will be a familiar face to some, having already starred on Prime Video’s hit show The Girlfriend, playing Pandora Henry opposite Olivia Cooke’s Cherry.
She also landed minor roles in the Hulu series We Were the Lucky Ones, Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, and Wonka.
Madeline, meanwhile, has made appearances in movies such as A Caribbean Dream, How to Talk to Girls at Parties, and Breathe.
In an interview with The Mirror, Wax addressed the help that her daughters had in accessing the entertainment industry, but claimed they do not ask for anything.
“Even though my daughters are comedians they don't ask for my advice – in their eyes I know nothing,” she said. “They do spot-on impressions of me. Max is a coder.
“The dinner table conversations we have are just hilarious. I hope I've taught them to be adventurous.”
In 2017, Wax told The Guardian: “Maddy is a comedian and Marina is an actress.
“Maddy and Marina have just started a comedy show called Siblings. If they weren't funny I wouldn't encourage them but they are.”
