Comelec: Over 6,000 voter applications processed in BARMM since Feb. 9

MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has recorded a total of 6,045 voter applications processed across the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao from Feb. 9 to 12, latest data released  showed.

Based on the latest Comelec tally, 1,740 applications were processed on Thursday alone — 858 male and 882 female — bringing the four-day running total to 3,030 male and 3,015 female applicants.

Maguindanao del Norte logged the highest number of applications among the six areas, with 465 processed on Thursday and a running total of 1,656. It was followed by Maguindanao del Sur with 422 applications on the day and 1,239 overall.

Lanao del Sur recorded 252 new applications, raising its cumulative total to 1,053. Basilan posted 221 new applicants for a total of 661.

Tawi-Tawi recorded 203 applications on Thursday, with 583 processed since Feb. 9. The Special Geographic Area registered 177 new applicants, bringing its four-day total to 853.

The figures reflect ongoing voter registration efforts in the region ahead of the first BARMM parliamentary elections.
