SANDAKAN: The local community is encouraged to take the opportunity to showcase their talent in sports by participating in the Community Sports League.
Sandakan MP, Vivian Wong believes that the government’s wishes through the Ministry of Youth and Sports to use sports as a medium for the well-being and unity of Malaysians can be achieved through the Community Sports League.
“The Community Sports League program is a platform provided by the government in the form of district to state and national level competitions throughout the country.
“This program is open to all levels of the local community in making sports activities a healthy and fit lifestyle,” she said.

Also present were Sandakan’s Federal Assistant Youth and Sports Officer, Idi Ladinda and Sandakan CX Table Tennis Club President, Lim Yin Vui.
Commenting on the sport of table tennis, Vivian said that it is quite popular among the people at villages, schools, housing estates and so on.
Thus, he encouraged table tennis players in the Sandakan district to continue to strive to become professional table tennis players at the international level.
In her speech, Vivian also took examples of the success of Datuk Lee Chong Wei, Datuk Mohd Azizulhasni Awang and Datuk Pandalela Rinong, who turned their sports talent into a career.
“Sports is also a career that young people can take advantage of, because if we make the name of our country famous, it is certain that remuneration and incentives will be given by the government,” she added.
