KUALA LUMPUR – LRT services on the Kelana Jaya Line were disrupted this evening following a power outage along the track between Universiti and Abdullah Hukum stations.
Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd, in a statement issued today, said the disruption occurred at around 5.06pm.
The operator confirmed that engineering teams were deployed to the site to carry out repair works and restore services as quickly as possible.
“Rapid Rail’s engineering teams are currently at the scene conducting repair works to restore normal operations as soon as possible,” the statement said.
To minimise inconvenience to passengers, the operator has activated alternative train services and complimentary shuttle buses.
“Trains from Stesen Putra Heights will turn back at Stesen Taman Jaya, while trains from Stesen Gombak will turn back at Stesen Bangsar,” Rapid Rail said.
“A shuttle train service is operating between Stesen Taman Jaya and Stesen Bangsar (Platform 2).”
Free shuttle buses have also been arranged to connect the affected stations.
“Free shuttle bus services are being provided to link the following stations – Taman Jaya, Universiti, Kerinchi, Abdullah Hukum and Bangsar – to ensure passengers can continue their journeys,” it added.
Rapid Rail said auxiliary police and station staff have been stationed at platforms and concourse areas to maintain order and assist commuters.
“Rapid Rail’s engineering teams are working tirelessly at the site to restore full power and resume normal service as quickly as possible. We apologise for the inconvenience caused,” the operator said.
Passengers are advised to refer to Rapid KL’s official social media channels for the latest updates on the Kelana Jaya Line service status.
“Passengers are advised to check Rapid KL’s social media platforms for the latest information and updates regarding the status of the Kelana Jaya Line service,” the statement concluded. - October 9, 2025
