The conservative Democratic Rally (DISY) party looks on track to win parliamentary elections in Cyprus, but is followed closely by the left-wing Progressive Party of Working People (AKEL), exit polls show.
The DISY is leading with 22.5% to 25.5% of the votes, state broadcaster RIK reported after polls closed on Sunday evening.
AKEL follows in second place at 21% to 24%, according to the exit polls.
The far-right ultranationalist National People's Front (ELAM) is set to come third with some 11%.
Direct Democracy Cyprus, a new party founded by YouTuber Fidias Panayiotou, looks poised to enter parliament on the first try with about 6%.
Another four smaller parties are also set to take seats, the exit polls suggest.
Preliminary official results are due to be released by around 1730 GMT.
Seventeen parties were competing for the votes of around 569,000 eligible voters in the EU country.
The election is not expected to have a major impact on politics, however, as executive power in Cyprus lies with the president, who is directly elected by the public.
Conservative President Nikos Christodoulides, who has been in office since 2023, forms and leads the government, while parliament mainly performs an oversight role.
The vote is therefore being closely watched as an important barometer of the public's mood ahead of the 2028 presidential election, in which Christodoulides is eligible to run.
