Kota Kinabalu: The runway at Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) remains temporarily closed to allow essential works to be completed safely following continuous rainfall.
The temporary closure has disrupted 20 flights today, Malaysia Airports said in an operational update on Thursday.
The airport operator said it is working closely with airlines to manage operational impacts and assist affected travellers.
Flight operations will resume only once the runway is confirmed safe for use, with safety remaining the highest priority.
Passengers have been advised to check their latest flight status directly with their respective airlines.
