Convent of Jesus and Mary, Chelsea, Shimla, hosted ‘Forum 2026: Looking Beyond Books’, bringing together five distinguished achievers to inspire students to look beyond academic scores and discover success through service, courage, and purpose. The forum opened with a timeless invocation from Swami Vivekananda — “Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached” — setting the tone for a morning of profound learning. On behalf of Principal Sister Greta, the school extended a warm welcome to the eminent panel comprising Lt Col Sukhvinder Kaur (retd), Dr PK Ahluwalia, former Professor of Physics, HPU, Shimla; IPS officer Mehar Panwar, currently ASP, City, Shimla; Dr Nishi Sood, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, IGMC Shimla; and Advocate Abhinav Mohan Goel, legal expert in IPR and civil-commercial litigation. Students presented potted plants to the panellists — a symbol of knowledge that blossoms when nurtured with wisdom, dedication, and purpose. The speakers urged students to pursue excellence with integrity across diverse fields — from national defence and scientific inquiry to public service, healthcare, and justice. Students engaged directly with the panellists, asking thoughtful questions on career choices, challenges, and social responsibility. Principal Sister Greta felicitated the guests as a token of the school’s profound respect and gratitude. Head Girl Sahaj Dhiman proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the panellists for illuminating new paths for the students.
