England are set to play their final group game of the 2026 World Cup on Saturday, taking on Panama.
However, rather than paying ‘$1,800’ for a ticket, viral fan Oliver Henry has decided not to go to the match and is instead in the midst of an American road trip.
Henry has already made headlines this summer after being invited to meet US President Donald Trump, and he’s now spoken out on his ‘surreal experience’ in the USA so far.

England fan decides to go on an American road trip instead of going to Panama game
Henry is fully embracing the American lifestyle, revealing in a recent Instagram video that he has got a pickup truck and has been listening to country music while wearing his cowboy hat.
He stated: “My American journey continues. I’ve got myself a truck and I’m going on an American road trip. I was going to go to the England game in New Jersey, but tickets are $1,800 each at the moment, and it’s against Panama, and it’s a nothing game. England are already pretty much through.
“So I thought it would be best to do an American road trip. I’m still going to head New Jersey direction because while I’m nearby, I’m going to drive to New York and see some sights there, because I’ve never been, and then I want to drive down to Atlanta, that’s the plan anyway.
“But I’ve got myself a big truck, and I’ve been listening to country music with my cowboy hat on; it’s been a surreal experience. I can’t believe how far this journey has taken me. I was only meant to come for one game in Dallas to watch England versus Croatia, and I’ve ended up going to Boston, meeting the president, and now I’m going on an American road trip in my truck. What, I’m so excited.”
Henry’s content is one of many examples of visiting fans loving life in America during the World Cup.
The tournament has done wonders for the country’s PR, which, perhaps among some European fans, was not the best in recent years.
But it feels like the more time people spend in the USA, the more they embrace the culture and all the positives it has to offer.
