
Kota Kinabalu: Sabah recorded 159 new Covid-19 cases, Monday, bringing the State’s total to 390,841, said Sabah Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.
“The number test samples today (Monday) is 1,658 compared to 1,840 yesterday. The positivity rate is 9.65 per cent, slightly higher than yesterday’s 9.40 per cent,” he said in a statement, Monday.
“Five districts recorded two-digit new cases, including Ranau and Tawau which previously only registered single-digit new cases.
“Ranau returns to the Red Zone after registering 10 new cases, and same as Tawau.
“Kota Kinabalu registered the highest number of new infections in Sabah with 77, followed by Penampang (14) and Tuaran (14).”
Sandakan that did not record any new cases on Sunday, had registered seven new cases on Monday.
“Nine districts did not record any new infections on Monday,” he said.
Some 155 new cases on Monday were in Categories 1 and 2, while three cases were in Category 4 and a case in Category 5.
Monday’s new cases were detected through contact screenings with 18 cases, symptomatic screenings (129) and other screenings (12).
The State also registered 256 recoveries – cumulatively 382,414.
