The 41-year-old has shown the kind of longevity you rarely see in professional sports, the kind only a handful of athletes display.

Ronaldo sat down with Piers Morgan for a deep-reaching interview into his life and football career. The money was neither the first, nor the most meaningful subject covered in the 80-minute piece, but it’s nonetheless interesting to know how the 41-year-old has changed in recent years.
In the video posted to Ronaldo’s YouTube, Morgan asked: “What’s the most expensive thing you’ve ever bought?”
Ronaldo replied: “The most expensive thing I’ve ever bought was a private jet about 13 years ago, but I’ve just bought a bigger, better one. I no longer care much about material things because I’ve already achieved all my dreams and goals.
“I only need the plane for my safety since I’m a public figure now. Money is good, but it isn’t everything.”
The jet in question was a Bombardier Global Express XRS, valued between $50 and $75 million. That’s less than half his annual salary at Al Nassr now, so while it is a ridiculous, eye-watering sum, it won’t have left too large of a hole in his pocket.
