The MADANI Government remains open to opposition Members of Parliament (MPs) signing a Confidence and Supply Agreement (CSA) to support institutional reform efforts and ensure the nation's political stability.
Minister of Communications, Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil, stated that participation in the CSA is not limited to the 13 MPs who have already signed the agreement, a group that includes six members from Bersatu.
“This represents a positive development for the country’s political stability and reflects a spirit of unity in carrying out various institutional reform initiatives.
“The opportunity to sign an MoU or CSA is not restricted to these 13 MPs alone; it remains open to any other Member of Parliament who wishes to come forward, hold discussions, and enter into a CSA.”
He said this during a press conference following the Cabinet meeting today.
Fahmi said the government hopes that the support received through the CSA will facilitate the implementation of the agreed-upon institutional reform commitments.
He noted that the execution of these commitments can be assessed through a joint evaluation mechanism between the parties.
According to him, this mechanism was previously utilised during the implementation of the 2021 and 2022 CSAs to verify that the pledged items had been carried out.
Fahmi stated that the government intends to fulfil all commitments agreed upon in the CSA, particularly those concerning institutional reforms.
He expressed hope that the solid support from the Members of Parliament (MPs) involved would ensure these efforts are carried out as planned.
Yesterday, the government signed a CSA with six Bersatu MPs led by party president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as well as seven other MPs, including the Member of Parliament for Muar, Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman.
In a Facebook post, the Prime Minister stated that the CSA would ensure the continuity of governance and provide space for the national development agenda. – October 30, 2026
