As the UK’s biggest tennis tournament enters its final days, Wimbledon has continued to welcome a raft of famous faces – with Cynthia Erivo and Lily James among the celebrities in attendance at the exclusive Royal Box today (Thursday 9 July).
This week has seen figures including Elle Fanning, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Judy Murray take a seat at the deluxe enclosure on Centre Court.
Coco Gauff faces off against Karolina Muchova in a hotly contested Women’s Singles semi-final, while Marta Kostyuk faces Linda Noskova on the other side of the bracket on Day 11.
Following this on Centre Court is the Mixed Doubles final: Australian duo Marc Polmans and Storm Hunter are battling it out with Marcelo Arévalo, from El Salvador, and Jeļena Ostapenko, from Latvia.
Looking onto the action today are various familiar faces from across the British media sphere, including entertainers, broadcasters, and a world-famous dancer.
Here’s who was in the Wimbledon box for Thursday’s action...
Darcey Bussell
Good footwork is one of the most important skills in tennis, and there can’t be many in attendance with more authority on the matter than Dame Darcey Bussell, who attended Centre Court with her husband Angus Forbes. Bussell, 57, is a retired ballerina with a storied career behind her – now, she’s also more recently known for her stint as judge on the BBC reality series Strictly Come Dancing.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas
Indian actor, singer and film producer Priyanka Chopra Jonas was also among the celebrities in the box today, watching on as the Women’s Semis took place.
Cynthia Erivo
If tennis players were able to start defying gravity, the court would be pretty useless – but it works just fine for Wicked star Cynthia Erivo. The thespian was spotted at Wimbledon weeks after wrapping up her run in the West End’s one-woman Dracula .
Lily James

The British actor known for roles in films such as Darkest Hour, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again and Yesterday was photographed attending the event, days after her former Pursuit of Love co-star Dominic West was seen doing the same.
Emily Maitlis
Thanks in part to the famous “car-crash” interview with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor in 2019, journalist Emily Maitlis has earned a reputation for hard-hitting news coverage. Today, though, it was the tennis pros doing the hard hitting as the former BBC presenter watched on. Sitting next to her in the box was Motherland star Anna Maxwell-Martin.
Gabby Logan

Presenter Gabby Logan took a break from presenting the BBC’s football World Cup coverage to take in the match of the day at Wimbledon – or rather, the matches.
