Dana White seems to be the only person in boxing who came away impressed by Conor Benn’s performance in London on Saturday night.

White was in Miami for UFC 327 but still managed to catch Benn’s decision win over Regis Prograis before heading to Kaseya Center. While many found the fight underwhelming, especially with Prograis retiring immediately after, White saw it differently, calling it a dominant display from Benn.

Benn, who recently signed a reported $15 million deal with Zuffa Boxing, has been cleared to return after an independent National Anti-Doping Panel lifted his suspension by UKAD. He is yet to have a British Boxing Board of Control licence, but can fight again through the British and Irish Boxing Authority.

Dana White shares his thoughts on Conor Benn’s latest win

Conor Benn went the distance to pick up a decision win over Regis Prograis, but it was far from his best outing. Returning to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where he’d shared two memorable fights with Chris Eubank Jr, Benn looked flat and struggled to find any real rhythm.

Prograis, already past his best years at 35, had clearly been dealing with injuries even before the first bell. He later revealed he had issues affecting four different body parts and retired from boxing immediately after the fight.

Benn didn’t face much danger at any point during the bout, but there wasn’t much excitement either. He did what was needed to win without really putting his stamp on it.

Despite that, Dana White seemed satisfied with what Zuffa Boxing got for their investment. When asked about the fight following UFC 327 in Miami, White said:

“Yeah, I watched the fight. I think he dominated.”

Benn’s $15 million deal with Zuffa Boxing was only for a single fight and there hasn’t been any news yet about whether they plan to extend their partnership beyond this one event.
