Danger-level rain warning issued for parts of Terengganu

MetMalaysia issues danger-level continuous rain warnings for four Terengganu districts until tomorrow, with severe rain alerts for other states.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department has issued a danger-level continuous rain warning for Kuala Terengganu, Marang, Dungun and Kemaman in Terengganu.

The heavy downpour is expected to persist until tomorrow.

Several other districts in Terengganu including Besut, Setiu, Kuala Nerus and Hulu Terengganu are also expected to experience severe continuous rain.

Jerantut and Kuantan in Pahang are similarly affected by the severe rain warning.

An alert-level continuous rain warning has been issued for several areas in Perak covering Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Manjung, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Bagan Datuk, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang and Muallim.

Similar alerts apply to Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Bentong, Temerloh, Maran, Bera and Pekan in Pahang, and Jelebu in Negeri Sembilan.

Warnings have also been issued for Kelantan, Selangor, and the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.
