Members of the Akali Dal (Waris Punjab De) organised a meeting at Khadoor Sahib on Saturday, which was specially addressed by the parents (father Tarsem Singh and mother Balwinder Kaur) of jailed MP Amritpal Singh.
Addressing the gathering at Rayya, Balwinder Kaur said that she had not pleaded with Bhagwant Mann for her son’s release, but had instead questioned him over the alleged illegal detention of thousands of youths. She claimed that the Chief Minister left without responding to her query.
A large number of women participated in the meeting, during which an 11-member women’s committee for Khadoor Sahib was also constituted.
Senior party leaders, including Harbhajan Singh Tur, a member of the Punjab committee, and Amarjit Singh Kaleke, were present on the occasion. During the meeting, Arjinder Singh Hira was appointed president of the Khadoor Sahib village committee.
