Robert MacIntyre failed to win the Valero Texas Open after heading into the final round with the lead.
MacIntyre is usually pretty good at getting the job done when he hits the front, but his final round of 70 allowed J.J. Spaun to sneak in and take the title.
The Scot played beautifully during the first two days at the Valero Texas Open, shooting rounds of 66 and 64.
However, MacIntyre slowed down during the final two rounds.
The Scot had to play 30 holes on Sunday at the Valero Texas Open and he was only one-under-par for those holes.

MacIntyre played with Ludvig Aberg at the Valero last week and the two Ryder Cup teammates fed off each other’s positive vibes.
However, that wasn’t quite enough for the 29-year-old to get the job done in the end.
Robert MacIntyre comments on ‘carnage’ at the Valero Texas Open
MacIntyre opened up to reporters after his final round at the Valero on Sunday evening.
He responded when asked to sum up the current state of his game and how he’s feeling with The Masters now just days away.
“I’ve been putting the ball beautifully all year,“ MacIntyre said.
“I felt like I’ve had lots of nice putts. Today they just weren’t even close.
“The wind with the grain with the slope and they were missing I felt a fair bit. So it was one of them ones, the wind was straight, the grain was straight down, the putt was very straight. If I hit a good putt, it’s going to be close. And from six feet out, it was probably the first putt today that I felt from six feet out I felt that was in the hole.
“So it was nice, it gave me a chance.
“And that 18th hole, it just reminds me of the finishing hole of Jumeirah Golf Estates, exact same designer. Carnage.
“Yeah, it was a good day in the end, but again, disappointing not to get the win.
“I honestly don’t know what else to say other than I’m disappointed. Yeah, I gave it my best shot. I put the new driver in play this week.

“I trusted everything that I’ve got especially coming down that stretch. I was proud of the way I played. Disappointed with some of the bogeys.
“Good execution, a couple of shots. I’m right there, I don’t need to worry about things. I just need to rinse and repeat again going into next week.“
Robert MacIntyre on the difficulty of the Valero Texas Open golf course
MacIntyre was clearly upset that he didn’t win in San Antonio on Sunday.
However, he should be more than confident heading into Augusta National this week.
The golf course at the Valero played extremely challenging at times and the Scot responded when asked by reporters what he made of the conditions on Sunday in San Antonio.
“Yeah, no, it wasn’t too bad. This morning was difficult,“ MacIntyre admitted.
“Obviously the course wasn’t set up for the wind of today, it was set up for yesterday’s conditions, so it was difficult this morning.
“This afternoon was a bit easier. Probably from about 10 onwards we had the wind kind of — wind didn’t die down, but it got a little bit warmer, so it was a bit more predictable.
“Yeah, it was a tough week. It was solid, but just disappointing not to get a win.“
