SABAH Governor Tun Dr Juhar Mahiruddin (right) with State Para athlete Jonathan Wong Kar Gee, eldest son of Sabah’s top developer of the year Datuk Susan Wong Siew Guen, who will be representing Malaysia at this month’s World Para Athletics Grand Prix 2024 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Jonathan will be competing in the long jump T12 category.

Tun Juhar, who led some 70 big bikers in a convoy together with Toh Puan Norlidah Tan Sri R.M.Jasni and family members to visit Benoni Show Gallery at Benoni Commercial Centre and Parklane City, Sunday, praised Jonathan for representing the country in the world competition and wished him all the best in his quest to bring home a gold medal.

Jonathan, who will be leaving for Dubai on Feb 11, said he would give his best performance and hopes to jump over 7 metres in the event.

Jonathan won a gold medal at the Asean Para Games held in Kuala Lumpur in 2017 and silver medals at the Asian Para Games in Jakarta in 2018 and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) World Championships in 2019 in Dubai.
