DOLE: NCR minimum wage to rise by P60

MINIMUM wage earners in the National Capital Region will receive a P60 daily wage increase starting Sept. 26, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said.

In its Sept. 11 statement, DOLE said the new wage order raises the minimum wage for nonagricultural workers from P695 to P755 per day and grants the same P60 daily increase to agricultural workers.

”The wage increase reflects President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s commitment to improve workers’ purchasing power and promote inclusive economic growth,” it added.

The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board-NCR issued Wage Order NCR-28, following the established tripartite wage-setting process.

DOLE said it would closely monitor the order’s implementation.

This comes as the implementation of Wage Order NCR-27, which granted an P85 daily wage increase in two tranches, remains under injunction by the Pasig Regional Trial Court.

The National Wages and Productivity Commission said the court issued the injunction against NCR-27 in August, while legal proceedings remain pending.
