
MANILA, Philippines — Flooding affected several roads in Quezon City, Valenzuela, Malabon and Caloocan on Monday night as rains enhanced by Typhoon Domeng and the southwest monsoon continued to drench parts of Metro Manila, according to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
Typhoon Domeng had already exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility, but the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said it continued to strengthen the southwest monsoon, or Habagat, bringing rain over Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon.
The MMDA said all flooded roads remained passable to light vehicles and other types of vehicles.
Among the affected areas were:
• Quezon City
* EDSA Dario (flooding subsided)
* EDSA Balintawak northbound (flooding subsided)
• Valenzuela City
* McArthur Highway in front of Goodyear (gutter-deep)
* KFC Fatima Marulas (gutter-deep)
* In front of Fatima Hospital in Marulas (half-knee deep)
* Valenzuela Trade Center in Malinta (gutter-deep)
• Malabon City
* Rizal Avenue Extension in San Agustin village (half-gutter deep)
* Women’s Club in Hulong Duhat village (half-gutter deep)
• Caloocan City
* Monumento Circle (gutter-deep)
* C3-NLEX Connector (flooding subsided)
The deepest flooding monitored by the MMDA was in front of Fatima Hospital in Valenzuela City, where floodwaters reached half-knee level.
Motorists were advised to monitor official traffic and weather advisories as intermittent rains continued across the metropolis.
