Dongzong Sabah praises State Government for continuous education support

Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Association of Chinese Independent Secondary School Committees (Dongzong Sabah) has expressed appreciation to the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) Government and Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor for their support in strengthening the state's education sector.

Dongzong Sabah chairman Datuk Au Kam Wah said the continued state assistance helps ensure the operational sustainability and development of Chinese independent secondary schools.

Au noted this during a meeting on Friday with Assistant Finance Minister Datuk Ben Chong, which was also attended by committee members representing nine Chinese independent secondary schools in Sabah.

Chong highlighted that the State Government allocated RM90 million in education assistance for 2026 to Chinese independent schools, mission schools, and non-Muslim religious institutions, marking its largest allocation to date.

Dongzong Sabah Adviser Datuk George Teo added that under the Hala Tuju Sabah Maju Jaya plan, the state has invested RM1.33 billion in education, with further increased allocations promised for the 2026–2030 phase.
