Germany's Franz Beckenbauer Super Cup will take place in Dortmund on August 22, with double winners Bayern Munich facing Bundesliga runners-up Borussia Dortmund, the German Football League (DFL) said on Wednesday.
It will be the 10th meeting between the two teams in the competition but first since 2021.
The Super Cup, now named after Germany football great Beckenbauer following his death in 2024, is normally contested between the German champions and the German Cup winners.
But because Bayern won the league and cup double this term, next season starts with a showdown with league runners-up Dortmund.
The German Cup first round is also scheduled on the Super Cup weekend so Bayern and Dortmund will play their first-round matches on September 1 or 2. The draw is on June 6.
