Jalen Brunson’s NBA Finals influence was impossible to miss.
The New York Knicks guard averaged 32.6 points per game against the San Antonio Spurs, delivered in clutch moments and repeatedly stood out with his fourth-quarter production.
That explains why his name is now being pushed into the greatest Knick ever debate.
Still, there has been some debate about Brunson’s Finals MVP award, and seasoned power forward Draymond Green made his own position clear on that matter.
Draymond Green says Jalen Brunson left no Finals MVP debate

The Golden State Warriors legend said on The Draymond Green Show that there was nothing to argue against Brunson winning the award, even while acknowledging that New York had other key contributors.
“Throughout the series, Mikal Bridges had his time, OG Anunoby had his time, Jose Alvarado had his time. When it all came down to it, Jalen Brunson did exactly what closers do,” he began by saying (via NBA Courtside).
“All right, nobody else can get it going in this close out game. Game 5, on the road, I get it. Scored almost half the team points, 45. Leave no debate. Leave no doubt.”
Green had already added another layer to his Brunson commentary during the series.
After Game 4, the forward apologised to the Knicks guard for past doubts, including the idea that his size made it hard to see him leading a championship team. He had challenged Brunson to prove him wrong, and the 29-year-old did exactly that.
Brunson’s Game 5 only strengthened the apology. He scored 45 points in the 94-90 title-clinching win, carrying the Knicks when the offence needed it most.
