Duterte-linked GenCorp has 8 active accounts

MANILA, Philippines — GenCorp Industries Inc., a company declared by Vice President Sara Duterte in her Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN), has eight active peso accounts at Security Bank, its branch group head Leslie Cham testified before the Senate impeachment court on Wednesday.

Cham made the disclosure while answering questions from Senator-Judge Kiko Pangilinan during the 35th day of Duterte’s impeachment trial.

“Eight accounts,” Cham said, when asked by Pangilinan whether Security Bank maintained peso accounts under GenCorp’s name and how many accounts were involved.

The witness said the first GenCorp account was opened in October 2020, followed by a second account in November 2020.

Two more accounts were opened in March 2021, while the remaining accounts were opened in August 2023, January 2025, August 2025, and November 2025.

Pangilinan then asked whether all eight accounts were still active.

“Yes, sir. It’s all active,” Cham confirmed.

When asked if the accounts remained active up to the present, Cham again answered in the affirmative.

Cham also presented the year-end balances for the eight accounts for the years available in the bank’s records.

For the account ending in 6890, the year-end balances were P7.88 million in 2022, P10.67 million in 2023, P9.04 million in 2024, and P3.28 million in 2025.

The account ending in 7044 had P2.28 million in 2022, P3.12 million in 2023, P4.55 million in 2024, and P2.37 million in 2025.

The fourth account, ending in 7215, had P14.59 million in 2022, P15.66 million in 2023, and P11.30 million in 2024. Cham said he did not have the 2025 figure available at the time of his testimony.

The fifth account, ending in 6022, had a balance of P501,390.50 in 2023, P1.50 million in 2024, and P1.50 million in 2025.
