AN e-hailing driver shared a disturbing experience when faced with a customer who allegedly acted aggressively following a dispute over a RM7 fare.
The sharing was uploaded via Rakyat E-Hailing MY Facebook, which is believed to have taken place in the Seremban Delima area.
According to the driver, the customer handed over RM50 to pay the RM7 fare, but he stated that he did not have enough change to return the balance.
He said he tried to resolve the matter amicably by suggesting that passengers provide small change, such as RM10 or RM20, to facilitate low-fare payments in the future.
However, the situation allegedly became tense when the customer was not satisfied and insisted that it was the driver's responsibility to provide the remaining money.
According to the sharing, the male customer is believed to have started raising his voice before a verbal argument broke out inside the vehicle.
The driver also claimed that the customer slapped his wife when the woman tried to defuse the situation.
Following the incident, the driver felt uncomfortable and asked the couple to get out of his vehicle.
He said that initially, he planned not to collect any fee if the issue could not be resolved, but decided to file a report with the e-hailing company after the incident.
According to him, the customer was still sending messages via the app after the incident and threatened to file a counter-report, but he claimed to have a video recording as evidence.
"Over three years of driving, this is the first time I have encountered a customer like this," he said in the post.
A survey in the comments section found that, on average, social media users sympathised with the plight of the driver involved and hoped that the safety aspects of e-hailing drivers would continue to be given attention. – May 31, 2026
