Eala falls short vs. Noskova, bows out in Berlin Open semis

MANILA, Philippines — Alex Eala put up a spirited fight in the second set but ultimately fell to Linda Noskova, 6-2, 6-4, in the semifinals of the 2026 Berlin Open early Sunday morning at the Steffi Graf Stadion in Germany.

The 21-year-old Filipina sensation showed resilience, especially in the second frame, but struggled to crack Noskova’s game throughout the match.

Eala’s semifinal run was highlighted by stunning victories over world No. 2 Elena Rybakina in the Round of 16 and world No. 8 Elina Svitolina in the quarterfinals.

However, Noskova proved to be a tough hurdle once again, maintaining her perfect record against Eala at 2-0 this season.
