MANILA, Philippines — Filipino tennis ace Alex Eala climbed four spots to No. 38 at the WTA live rankings after her first-round win at the Italian Open on Wednesday.
Ranked No. 42 in the latest official rankings last Monday, Eala defeated Polish Magdalena Frech at the Italian opener, 6-0, 3-6, 6-4.
Eala gained 25 net points with her victory, raising her total to 1,310.
