LABUAN: The Labuan Chinese Chamber Commerce (LCCC) said Sabah and Federal authorities should “review and ease” trade rules between Sabah and Labuan as they were excessively bureaucratic and affecting the island, particularly construction and building industry.
Chairman Datuk Wong Kii Yii said: “The present requirements of various permits such as exports, APs (approved permits) quotas on import of sand, stones and timber from Sabah took about four months for approval after going through various agencies.
“This not only escalated the cost of the project but also delay its completion and other elated problems and not helpful to the economy.”
