Eddie Hearn has wasted no time making an impact as Tom Aspinall’s new agent, launching a strong criticism of the UFC champion’s current contract. His comments arrive amid growing scrutiny over fighter pay in the promotion.

The debate has intensified following the UFC’s reported $7.7 billion deal with Paramount, with several high profile fighters complaining.

Names such as Justin Gaethje, Sean Strickland and Michael ‘Venom’ Page have all questioned how revenue is distributed. Now, Hearn has added Aspinalls name to that list.

Speaking before George Liddard vs Tyler Denny, Hearn did not hold back when discussing Aspinall’s contract.

“I represent the UFC world heavyweight champion. I’m going to bite my tongue a little bit for now, but what I will tell you is his contract is a f—— disgrace, right? A disgrace,” he told Pro Boxing Fans.

“And I cannot believe the money that he is on when you look at the commercial revenue that his fight would generate against a Pereira or against a Gane, in a rematch.

“And honestly, if I’m Tom Aspinall, I’m looking at that contract, I go, ‘I don’t even think you should f—— bother me.’ But he wants to come back. He wants to rematch Gane. He wants to fight Pereira. He wants to defend his world heavyweight title.

“The time you’ve paid your tax and paid your team, there’s no f—— point in even fighting. Especially when you had four operations after your eyes got gouged out.”

Eddie Hearn and Dana White rivalry intensifies after Tom Aspinall move

Hearn’s comments also add fuel to his evolving rivalry with UFC president Dana White. The two were once friends, but tensions have grown since White expanded into boxing with Zuffa Boxing.

Earlier this month, Aspinall signed with Hearn’s talent agency, bringing one of the UFC’s champions directly into that dynamic.

In that context, there has even been light-hearted talk of a potential boxing match between both promoters, underlining how personal the rivalry has become.
